The committee concerned with the Women's Empowerment Fund at the Ministry of Women's Affairs held the first meeting to sort out the fund's applications, after completing the collection of 78 applications and their preliminary evaluation according to the previously announced criteria.

The committee was consisted of Eng. Marwa Sheikh Khalil; director of Projects Department in the Ministry, and Eng. Shayma' Jaarour; project coordinator, in addition to the economic expert Dr. Musab Al-Sheikh Khalil. The accepted applications are expected to be next week.

The project, funded by Cinta Gaza Malaysia and supervised by PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre, depends on providing a good loan to a number of women, enabling them to start a small business, training them on the mechanism of setting up, managing projects, and coordinating the budget related to it through the program's stages. So that, the women become fully aware of managing their own project.

It is worth noting that the project comes as a commitment from the Ministry of Women's Affairs, PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre, and Cinta Gaza Mal to work on empowering Palestinian women economically and raising their capabilities. The accepted women will be trained in managing, opening and marketing private projects, coordinating their budgets, and the like.

This raises the economic efficiency of women, and improving the living level of their families.
