In a statement, Hamas denounced Bahrain's normalization with the Israeli occupation, and considered it a betrayal to the Palestinian cause, one that would help the realization of the Deal of the Century. Hamas warned about the consequences of such step which would grant the occupation more control over the assets of the neighboring countries. The Movement also emphasized that such agreements will not weaken the Palestinian people and conscious peoples of the Arab and Muslim nations in the face of the occupation. Saeb Erekat, Secretary General of the PLO's Executive Committee, said that the Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain was summoned, and all ambassadors to countries that normalize with the occupation will be summoned as well.
