Biden and Sisi Support  Calm in Gaza

Nov 12, 2022 10:41 am

US President Joe Biden and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed the need to maintain a calm in Gaza.

This came during a meeting between them on the sidelines of the work of the COP27 World Climate Summit, in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, where the President of the United States commended Egypt's efforts to maintain calm between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, while Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's firm position in reaching an urgent solution guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people.

Anticipation of Arab and international circles is prevalent for fear of a possible escalation of tension in the Palestinian territories following Benjamin Netanyahu's victory in the Knesset elections and his move to form a right-wing government.
