The United Nations Policy and Decolonization Committee, by an overwhelming majority over the Palestinian proposal, has agreed that the International Criminal Court to formulate an international legal law, with the legal view that the continued occupation of the West Bank would amount to annexation of Palestinian territory, contrary to international law.
The Israeli website YNET stated that the decision would allow the occupation to be trialed by the International Court of Justice.
The Israeli occupation of the West Bank is a permanent situation and a practical annexation of the Palestinian territories and the Court may recommend that the United Nations take action against occupation, whether through executive actions, sanctions, or boycott and others, noting that the occupation's concern is to legitimize the international boycott movement.
