Israeli Fears of Ben Gvir’s Leak of Shabak’s Secrets to Settlers

A number of Israeli lawyers have expressed concerns that the next Minister of National Security for the Israeli occupation, Itmar Ben-Gvir, has leaked the secrets of the Shabak Public Security Service to settler groups.

The well-known lawyer Avigdor Feldman said in an article published by Haaretz that Ben Gvir’s assumption of the post of Minister of Internal Security automatically enters him into the ministerial committee overseeing Shabak's work, thereby familiarizing him with top-secret records. In case the Shabak wanted to go after extremist Jewish cells, he might inform the committee of this, and thus Ben Gvie leaks these information to extremist settlers.

He pointed out that Shabak would have two options, either to dissolve the Jewish section of Shabak -responsible for pursuing Jewish terrorist cells- or to hide Shabak as such information about Ben Gvir for fear of leaking it.
