The Israeli occupation prisons’ administration informed the prisoner Maher Younis that he would be transferred from the prison of the Negev to investigations, although two days were left for his release.
The Ministry of Detainees and Ex-Detainees confirmed that "the administration of the occupation prisons had transferred the prisoner Maher Younis to an unknown destination hours before his release". This came two days before his release after serving 40 years in prison, in an attempt to exert pressure on him and prevent the celebrations of his release.
Within the same context, Israeli police announced that they were preparing to prevent the celebration of the release of prisoner Maher Younis, and described such celebrations as “terrorist acts.”
