After four decades of captivity in Israeli occupation prisons, Israeli occupation forces released Maher Younis, dean of Palestinian and Arab prisoners.
The prisoner Maher Younis arrived at the cemetery of Ara village to visit his father's grave and read Surah Al-Fatih on his soul. He then went to the family home and was received by his mother and relatives.
In an attempt to ruin the joy of Maher Younis, he was prevented from bidding farewell to his fellow prisoners. Also, Israeli police deployed special units in the vicinity of the Younis' home minutes before he arrived to prevent any celebrations of his liberation from prisons. They also warned them not to fly the Palestinian flag and set up a tent to receive him.
