The Israeli occupation rejected the request for the early release of elderly prisoner with cancer Mufaq Arouk (79 years), following the end of two thirds of his sentence.

A special session, known as "two-thirds of the duration", was held for prisoner Arouk, during which a special committee of the judiciary refused to release him despite his age and 3 years of bowel cancer. He has been serving a 30-year prison sentence, facing a difficult health situation as his intestines were removed in 2020 and underwent a stomach removal, the Prisoner Club said.
