Hamas must Respond to Occupation's Killing in Jericho

In the last 10 days, the city of Jericho was the focus of attention of the Israeli Security Service, following an attempt by a Hamas fighter to carry out a fedayeen operation in an Israeli restaurant southern the city. The fighter was a member of a Qassami cell that hid in Aqabat Jaber camp to prepare for other operations.

Yesterday morning, Israeli army forces stormed the camp, assassinated five fighters and wounded two. Now, they are waiting for any response from us to this attack, and the question is whether Hamas decides to respond to the killing of its members in the camp or it will leave the rope for other Palestinian factions.

During talks in Ramallah, US Secretary of State Blinken devoted most of his time to the administration's concerns about the repercussions of the ongoing weakening of the Palestinian Authority. The PA's announcement to cease security coordination with Israel was a response to the Israeli army operation in Jenin, in which 10 Palestinians were martyred at the end of January, has not been achieved. The two parties have so far been making calls for some urgent issues, but the political break between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is almost complete, causing concern over increased resistance operations in the West Bank. Yet, the US administration stands with Israel, a joint maneuver with the Israeli army, notably with a joint attack in Iran.

Netanyahu also used Iran as an argument, and perhaps as an excuse in his talks with his right-wing partners. Sine almost a year, the head of the government has been waving with Iran's paper for internal purposes. It is uncertain that his partners will be easily convinced of this. The agenda must remember, there is still a possibility of Iran's revenge by attacking warplanes that were attributed to Israel in Isfahan last week.
