Hamas was aware that amid the Palestinian Authority's vulnerability and disputes within the entity, this is the right time to continue strikes and increase resistance operations in the West Bank and Al-Quds.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth also warned against transferring the civil administration's powers to a person other than Smotrich. This move would cause harm and aggravate the security situation, especially since that step was aimed at separating the civilian and security sides of the West Bank.
