During the official visit of the Israeli delegation to the UAE, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, the Israeli Al-Quds Deputy Mayor, met with official Emiratis. Later, the Emirati delegation came to the holy Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and prayed in the Dome of the Rock Masjid. Following that, an official Emirati delegation arrived in occupied Palestine and met with Israeli officials. They discussed several issues including offering mutual tourism activities. What, then, are the dangers of these visits on Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa?

Quarter of a Million Tourist

One of the most important places that the Arab delegations will be visiting is Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. The Deputy Mayor even said that Al-Quds will host about a quarter of a million Muslim tourists yearly.

Al-Quds Municipality said, “The thing that the Palestinians do not understand is that Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa has been included in the agreement with the UAE in order to dismiss their claim that Israel is trying to destroy Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa”.

Israeli Sovereignty

On the day of the UAE’s visit, 75 settlers broke into Al-Masjid’s arenas under security protection. In fact, Knesset members Ariel Kallner and May Golan from Likud announced their intention to form a Knesset Lobby for Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa in order to maintain their sovereignty over the Masjid, and protect the Jews’ entry.

Judaizational Role of UAE

Based on the above, ‘Israel’s’ intention is no longer a secret. It is clear that the Arab supervision over Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa will be transferred to the UAE instead of Jordan, so that the UAE’s role in purchasing property in Al-Quds and moving it to the occupation becomes open to the public. This would enable the Israeli control over the Masjid.

As a result, the role of Al-Aqsa’s rangers will be terminated and the murabiteen, ‘who disturb and harm’ the Arab tourists, will be expelled. In addition, Arab and Jewish delegations will enter the arenas for prayer together as part of the ‘Abraham’ agreement.

The importance of having official and unofficial delegations arriving in Al-Aqsa and praying there serves the following:

• Showing that the conflict about Al-Aqsa is only about performing prayer there.

• Misleading the public opinion into thinking that the occupation allows Arabs and Muslims to visit Al-Masjid when it actually prevents the Palestinians from entering it.

• Offering these delegations protection from the Israeli occupation. This means, they will not be allowed to enter at any time they wish or make any changes under the pretext of security measures to protect and serve the tourists.

Arab and Islamic Role

It is the Arabs and Muslims role to stand up to this dangerous plan at two levels:

The Palestinian Level: It will not be easy for the people of Al-Quds to stand against the Israeli plan, especially which receives support from the UAE. However, it will not be impossible. The murabiteen can topple the Arab-Israeli plan since this change of reality aims to annihilate the Palestinian presence in Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. This stand requires firmer position than the one given against the electronic gates.

The Palestinian people must cover their backs and help them by all means possible.

The Arab and Islamic Level: It is imperative that all Arab and Islamic institutions that are against normalization expose the Israeli political objectives to the people, and to expose the risks of Arabs and Muslims’ prayer at Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa.

Today, it has become a must to boycott all governments, figures and institutions that normalize with the occupation and help it implement its Judaizational attempts of Al-Quds.
