The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) inaugurated Al-Quds Castle in Bab Al-Khalil after 10 years of drilling and three years of restoration and restructuring under the name “Tower of David”. This took place in the presence of the Israeli minister of Al-Quds affairs, the minister of the occupation municipality, and a crowd of colonial Israeli settlers.
The Israeli occupation connected the castle to a new entrance from outside Al-Quds’ walls in Bab Al-Amoud which ends at the exit of the Old City of Al-Quds. The castle displays the history of the city according to the so-called “Israeli biblical narrative” in ten halls, along with models, statues, old maps, and antiquities. There is also a café and an exhibition for the sale of memorial collectibles to represent Israeli symbols and slogans.
According to Dr. Youssef Natsheh, head of the Jerusalem Studies Center at Al-Quds University, the occupation converted the Masjid of the “Tower of David” into a museum after years of excavations, drilling, and restoration, and they are aware that it is one of the largest mosques in Al-Quds after Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa.
