Eamonn Gilmore, the special envoy for human rights for the European Union, confirmed that the Israeli government does not take any action to stop settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds.

In an interview with the Israeli newspaper "Haaretz," Gilmore emphasized that "Israel is responsible for investigating such cases and combating this phenomenon" and noted that there is a significant disparity between the number of "violent incidents in which settlers were involved" and the number of investigations that were opened in this context.

"There is a clear trend of lethal harm to civilians that began in 2022 and continued in the first half of 2023," he added.

There has been a rise in the number of civilian casualties, according to Gilmour, who also confirmed that harm to Palestinian people had increased.
