Israeli newspaper Yisrael Hayom reported that the ministerial committee of the Israeli occupation for legislative affairs will hold a session today to discuss a bill that grants the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, the authority to impose administrative detention orders, targeting Palestinians inside the occupied Palestinian territories of 1948.
According to the Israeli newspaper, this proposed law states that detention orders can be issued with the approval of the Attorney General or any of the legal advisors, and the period of detention ranges from six months to only one year. These are unprecedented powers for Ben Gvir, as he is entitled to restrict the movement of any person, prevent them from leaving their place of residence, prohibit them from traveling abroad, or impose a residency requirement in a specific area.
