In agreement with the occupation police, the extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, Minister of the so-called "Israeli National Security," issued new instructions aimed at "facilitating weapons usage," which include preventing weapon confiscation or investigating those who shoot Palestinians once they suspect operations have taken place.
Additionally, Israeli Channel 12 reported that the new guidelines were authorized by the Investigations Department at the occupation police's central command in order to encourage settlers to own guns.
The shooters who carried out the missions, the channel noted, "were forced to surrender their weapons, sometimes for a long period of time, and in some cases they were interrogated with the aim of warning them, before these instructions were issued."
