Senior Israeli Atomic Scientists Consider Resigning in protest of judicial Reforms

Jul 26, 2023 12:00 pm

According to Israeli Channel 13, a number of senior Israeli atomic scientists, including members of the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission and those in charge of developing Israel's nuclear capabilities, are considering leaving their positions in protest against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to weaken the judiciary.

The decision will be made by dozens of nuclear scientists and experts who are in charge of developing Israel's nuclear capabilities, according to the report. Each of them will make their own decision; it is not a collective decision. The decision is still in its early stages and is being made internally; the scientists did not propose or discuss it on their own volition.

Hundreds of soldiers and officers, including Israeli Air Force pilots and senior commanders, have said recently that they will no longer serve in the reserve army in opposition to the proposed judicial reforms.
