The six "Freedom Tunnel" prisoners continue to be subjected to punitive measures and appalling conditions of imprisonment at the hands of the Israeli occupation prisons' administration.
The six prisoners who managed to escape the "Gilboa" prison's tunnel they dug, are reportedly being detained by the occupiers in isolation cells that are deficient in the basic essentials of human life, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, which also added that prisoners are consistently exposed to harsh punishments and abusive procedures, which worsens and complicates their detention circumstances.
Six Palestinian prisoners were able to construct a tunnel beneath Gilboa Prison on September 6, 2021, and they were able to escape for several days before being recaptured by the occupation forces. They were punished, including being placed in isolation, and their trial has since started.
