New Israeli Tunnel Discovered Beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque

Researcher and Jerusalem affairs specialist Fakhri Abu Diab has revealed the existence of a new tunnel and excavations being carried out by Israeli authorities beneath the Al-Buraq courtyard, west of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to Abu Diab, workers from the so-called “Israeli Antiquities Authority” and the Jerusalem Municipality recently began digging a new tunnel in the western area of Al-Aqsa. It starts from within the Al-Buraq yard near the Mughrabi Gate and runs beneath the Moroccan and Sharaf neighborhoods under the Old City wall, reaching all the way to Jaffa Gate—one of the main gates to the Old City.

He explained that the tunnel includes tourist centers, museums, and Talmudic pathways aimed at promoting distorted Israeli narratives. He warned that these excavations have already caused cracks and structural damage to the above-ground buildings and stones of the mosque, threatening its foundational stability.

Abu Diab stressed that resolving control over underground Jerusalem is among the most dangerous Judaization projects, especially since the main target is Al-Aqsa Mosque—possibly in preparation for a full change to the current status quo.
