Twenty-six Palestinian institutions sent a memorandum to the secretary-generals of the national and Islamic action factions on the eve of the planned meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at the end of this month.
The memorandum urges the need to expedite the arrangement of internal affairs based on national partnership, and to agree on a unified national strategy to confront the occupation, respecting the rights, freedoms, and dignity of citizens and their right to choose their representatives. It also calls for the adoption of clear policies to enhance resilience against the occupation's aggression.
The secretary-generals of the Palestinian factions were also called upon to leave this meeting with a unified stance and clear, practical steps, along with specific timetables, to end the division and unify institutions between the West Bank and Gaza Strip."
