Omar Sadiq Kameel, a 50-year-old administrative prisoner, has been on an open hunger strike for 20 days straight in protest of his administrative detention in the Israeli occupation jails.
According to The Palestinian Prisoners Club, Kameel has been held since last March, and a 6-month administrative detention order has been filed against him.
After Sheikh Khader Adnan's martyrdom in May, prisoner Kameel went on a hunger strike that lasted for several days in protest against the crime committed against him and in rejection of the crime of medical negligence (slow killing policy). It is notable that Kameel is the father of Mahmoud Kamil, a martyr who passed away in Al-Quds in 2020.
According to the club, "the number of administrative prisoners reached 1,132 until the end of June, and this percentage is the highest since 2003, noting that the occupation issued dozens of administrative detention orders this month."
