Six journalists, including Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqa, were killed when Israeli forces bombed their tent in western Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli warplanes targeted the journalists’ tent in front of Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City, resulting in the death of Al Jazeera team members Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqa, along with Ibrahim Zahir, Mohammed Nofal, Moamen Alouah, and Mohammed Al-Khaldi. Several other journalists and civilians were also injured.
The late journalist Anas Al-Sharif had been repeatedly incited against by Israeli officials, army spokespersons, extremist Israeli journalists, and activists. He had also received direct Israeli phone threats of assassination if he did not stop his reporting.
With the killing of these six journalists, the total number of journalists martyred in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 239
