The Greatest Settlement Project Resolving the Issue of Al-Quds

Aug 08, 2023 11:43 am

The Israeli government aims to conduct the greatest settlement project in Al-Quds, according to expert on Al-Quds affairs Fakhri Abu Diab, as it will seize 37 thousand dunums of Palestinian land in the targeted districts of occupied Al-Quds.

In order to resolve the Al-Quds issue, he continued, there are two tracks being followed: one inside the city through the implementation of Judaization projects, and the other outside the city through settlement projects.

This goes parallel with the change of the demographics of Al-Quds in favor of the illegal settlers. He stated that the plan calls for the construction of 57,000 settlement units, the relocation of about 225,000 settlers by the year of 2023, and a reduction in the land allotted to Palestinians for construction. He also stressed that the plan's implementation represents an actual step toward annexing the lands east of Jerusalem, limiting natural reproduction and Palestinian control over the public space.
