The Israeli occupation government has decided to allocate $274.6 million to fund settlement projects in the occupied West Bank, just hours after the Knesset passed a decision to apply “Israeli sovereignty” over the area.
The newspaper Israel Hayom quoted Transportation Minister Miri Regev as saying:
“The budget allocations approved tonight are a continuation of a clear policy, namely implementing sovereignty in practice through action. And although the law supporting the application of sovereignty was passed by the Knesset yesterday, work on the ground began the day I returned to the ministry.”
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich added:
“This is how actual sovereignty is achieved, how one million residents (settlers) are brought in, and how the idea of establishing an Arab (Palestinian) terrorist state is eliminated,” as he put it.
