According to Walla, the United States has urged the Israeli occupation to make substantial concessions to the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in order to normalize relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This comes at a time when Washington is seeking to conclude a security-military deal with Saudi Arabia by March 2024, just before the presidential elections influence President Joe Biden's foreign policy agenda.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Israel's Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, that "Israel is not reading the situation correctly if it thinks it is not obligated to take significant steps toward the Palestinians as part of the normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia."
Dermer did not show openness to taking significant steps toward the Palestinians, believing that Israeli concessions would be a readiness to accept a civilian nuclear program in Saudi Arabia.
