Introduction

On August 21, 1969, the Australian Michael Dennis set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, admitting that he did so for doctrinal effects related to one of the Torah's books. He explained the incident as a step towards destroying Al-Aqsa, allowing Jews to reconstruct the Alleged Temple and hastening the appearance of the Antichrist to govern the globe for a thousand years. Apparently, it constitutes a suitable starting point for comprehending the grounds for the ideological targeting of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Furthermore, it highlights the fact that the targeting is frequent and many-sided, and serves a doctrinal purpose related to the demolition of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the erection of what they call the "Solomons Temple."
