Israeli occupation forces have arrested Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, and the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, from within the mosque’s courtyards.

According to the Islamic Waqf Department, occupation police detained Sheikh Hussein after he delivered the Friday sermon at Al-Aqsa Mosque and took him to the Mughrabi Gate.

In the same context, the occupation forces prevented those who had been previously banned from entering from performing Friday prayers and forcibly expelled them from the area.
