Defense for Children International documented the violations the Israeli occupation practiced against the two Palestinian children Ahmed, 17 from Nablus, and Akram, 16, from Ramallah. The documentation covered their separate arrests and the investigation they were under. Ahmed said to the Defense for Children that an Israeli soldier pushed him to the floor at Beit Furik Checkpoint east Nablus and threatened to kill him unless he confessed throwing stones at the checkpoint. Ahmed said the soldier told him, “I will shoot you and say it was by mistake”, then he pointed his weapon at him and Ahmed screamed, “I do not want to die”. The soldier covered Ahmed’s eyes, and his mates started swearing him and his friend. Then, they took them to Huwwara prison for an investigation that lasted two hours. The two children stayed there for 5 days suffering from inhumane circumstances as they were served bad food, and did not have a place for showering. The soldiers transferred him to Megiddo prison where he was sentenced 3 months and fined 1000 shekels. He was released after he served the time he was given. As for Akram, he was arrested from his home without a warrant after the soldiers had beaten him with the rifle’s stock and blindfolded him. They took him to the investigation room, undressed him claiming for searching purposes, and threatened to arrest his parents, shoot his brothers and imprison him for a long time if he did not confess throwing Molotov at the occupation’s forces. However, he insisted on denying the claims. He is now in Ofer prison.
