The head of Israel's Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, stated that his exclusion from the negotiation team had a negative impact and did not lead to the release of hostages, emphasizing that the goal behind this move was to conduct negotiations without reaching an actual deal.

Bar pointed out that his dismissal was intended to prevent an investigation into the events of October 7.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had summoned Ronen Bar to his office and asked him to resign voluntarily. However, Bar refused, prompting Netanyahu to dismiss him, sparking outrage and criticism from the opposition.

Meanwhile, Israel's Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu’s government has decided to postpone Bar's dismissal for a month, but if a replacement is appointed sooner, he will be removed before the end of that period.
