The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories reported that the Israeli occupation has established 849 obstacles across the occupied West Bank.
In a survey conducted in January and February, OCHA explained that road gates constitute one-third of these obstacles (288 gates), most of which are often closed.
This has further hindered Palestinians' access to essential services and workplaces, as 60% of these gates are frequently closed.
OCHA added: "In addition to the increase in the number of fixed obstacles, intensified movement restrictions have disrupted travel for extended periods at checkpoints."
