Israeli settlers have bulldozed a historic archaeological site located atop Mount Qarqafa in the town of Aqraba, southeast of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

The Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights confirmed that the bulldozing is taking place under the protection of Israeli occupation forces and poses a serious threat of systematic destruction to rare archaeological landmarks that date back thousands of years.

The organization explained that this assault aims to expand several settlements in the town, in a clear attempt to erase Palestinian identity, impose a new settler reality on the ground, and strip Palestinian areas of their cultural and historical significance by converting heritage sites into zones that serve illegal settlement expansion.
