Bassem Naim, a member of Hamas' Political Bureau, confirmed that the movement is committed to the agreement signed on January 19th.
Naim emphasized that resistance and its weapons are an existential matter for a people under occupation, stressing that the survival of the Palestinian people on their land is not just a red line, but a matter of life or death.
Hamas had expressed its agreement with the new proposal for a ceasefire during the Islamic and Jewish holidays, which would allow the entry of humanitarian aid and provide an opportunity to start negotiations for the second phase of the suspended ceasefire agreement, as reported by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper.
The newspaper, citing unnamed sources, noted that Hamas had agreed on a proposal with mediators and reached advanced stages in discussions regarding the leadership of the Community Support Committee in Gaza.
