The Israeli occupation has launched a military campaign targeting refugee camps in the northern West Bank, beginning on January 21 with Jenin Camp and later extending to Nur Shams and Tulkarm camps, along with several other camps in the northern governorates.
This ongoing assault has resulted in dozens of martyrs and injured civilians, the displacement of more than 40,000 Palestinians, and the destruction of hundreds of homes, institutions, and vital infrastructure. Simultaneously, the Israeli army continues to carve out new roads within these camps.
In parallel with this military campaign, the Israeli Security Cabinet approved the legalization of 13 colonial outposts, converting them into new settlements in the West Bank. This move aims to reinforce so-called “Israeli sovereignty” over the area, aligning with Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s plan to erase the Palestinian refugee issue and pave the way for the full annexation of the occupied West Bank.
