The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that its flour supplies in the Gaza Strip have been completely depleted.
UNRWA stated that it has about 3,000 trucks loaded with life-saving aid ready to enter Gaza, but the occupation continues to prevent the entry of these aid trucks.
The agency added that "hunger is worsening in Gaza," explaining that residents of the Strip, including children, are "hoping to receive some food to survive, mainly through the warm meals distributed by charitable organizations."
The World Food Programme had also announced that its food stockpile in Gaza had been "completely" exhausted due to no aid entering for seven weeks, following Israel’s closure of the crossings.
The Gaza Strip, home to around 2.4 million people, relies almost entirely on humanitarian aid, which has been completely halted since March 2, following the occupation’s closure of all crossings.
