An infant girl has died as a result of malnutrition and the worsening famine in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Ministry of Health, six-month-old Jinan Al-Saqafi passed away due to malnutrition. She is the first reported fatality in the current wave of starvation, following two consecutive months of a strict blockade imposed on Gaza.

Dr. Ahmad Al-Farra, Head of the Pediatrics Department at Nasser Medical Complex, warned of an imminent health catastrophe threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands in the Gaza Strip. He stated that the region is "facing a large wave of deaths due to malnutrition" if the current humanitarian situation continues.

He added, "We are witnessing an increase in cases of underweight children, a sharp decline in body mass, hair loss, and significant physical and psychological changes in children."

The World Health Organization has recorded the deaths of 50 Palestinians due to hunger amid the ongoing genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.
