New Proposal from Witkoff to Netanyahu to End the War on Gaza

The Israeli newspaper Maariv, citing informed sources, revealed that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff has presented a new proposal for a prisoner exchange deal during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the sources, the proposal outlines a framework for a comprehensive deal that could lead to a permanent and long-term ceasefire—potentially encouraging Hamas to show greater flexibility in ongoing negotiations.

Netanyahu’s office announced that he has instructed a negotiation team to head to Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday. The delegation will remain there until Thursday, coinciding with a visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to the Qatari capital, as part of efforts to push forward a new ceasefire agreement based on understandings between Netanyahu and Witkoff.

These developments come shortly after Hamas released the American-Israeli captive Idan Alexander, following rare direct negotiations between the movement and the U.S. administration—excluding the Israeli side.
