The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported that more than 50,000 Palestinian children have been killed or injured since the Israeli war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.

Edward Beigbeder, UNICEF’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, said:
“On Friday, we witnessed videos of burned and dismembered bodies of children from the Al-Najjar family being pulled from the rubble of their home in southern Gaza. And in the early hours of Monday, we saw images of a young girl trapped in a burning school in Gaza City.”

He stressed, “The children of Gaza need protection, food, water, and medicine. They need a ceasefire.”
