Ajith Sunghay, the representative of the United Nations Office for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, warned that the U.S.-Israeli mechanism for distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip is "unsustainable" and involves "humiliation" that further worsens the suffering of Palestinians.
Sunghay stated: “There is a clear famine, and a visibly malnourished population under ongoing bombardment. Amid this suffering, we see an aid distribution plan that has fundamental problems — starting with the principles of neutrality, independence, and fairness, and ending with its practical risks.”
It is worth noting that in recent days, the U.S.-Israeli "Humanitarian Gaza Foundation", which has been rejected by the UN, began distributing extremely limited aid in southern and central Gaza — an effort seen as a means to force Palestinians to evacuate the north and empty it.
