The Israeli journalist Ben Caspit said that the war on the Gaza Strip has, over time, become pointless and destructive to the lives of soldiers.
The editor of the "Maariv" online newspaper added:

"We have assassinated most of Hamas's leaders, and we keep doing the same thing in Gaza all the time, but we are burying soldiers every week."

He continued:

"Didn't we destroy the infrastructure? What is the point of continuing the war? There is no victory image at the end… There are still 2 million people in Gaza. We must recover all the prisoners we abandoned because this war is empty and futile."
