Around 80,000 worshippers performed Eid al-Adha prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, despite the strict restrictions and security measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces.
The entrances to the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed increased military presence, including checkpoints, ID checks, and the prevention of many worshippers from entering — in an attempt to limit the number of attendees.
According to Jerusalem-based data, 6,728 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during May — the highest number since the beginning of the year.
One of the most serious violations occurred on May 12, when settlers entered the mosque compound and brought a sacrificial animal in an attempt to slaughter it within the mosque’s courtyards.
Calls continue to circulate urging people to mobilize and stay stationed at Al-Aqsa to confront the occupation’s plans.
