The United Nations has confirmed that Israeli occupation forces have continued to block fuel shipments into Gaza for the 16th consecutive week, warning of the catastrophic consequences of such actions on the lives of the Strip’s residents.
UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that UN officials managed to retrieve a quantity of fuel that had already been present at the Rafah station in Gaza a few days ago.
He noted that a limited amount of this fuel was delivered to public facilities in the southern part of the Strip, enabling the continued operation of water desalination plants, water distribution trucks, and sewage pumping stations.
The UN official revealed that some fuel was also sent to northern Gaza, but "the fuel shortage continues to restrict operations and is causing reduced working hours and capacity."
