Warning Against Israel's Ban on Lawyers Visiting Prisoners

The Prisoners Media Office has warned of the continued Israeli ban on lawyers’ visits to Palestinian detainees held in its prisons.

In a statement, the office noted that 500 male and female prisoners have been denied their legal right to lawyer visits over the past ten days, following a decision by the Israeli Prison Administration to suspend all legal visits until further notice. This measure deepens the isolation of the detainees and raises concerns over their conditions, especially as Israeli courts have postponed hearing sessions and are limiting proceedings to detention extensions and administrative detention cases only.

In a related development, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club reported that Israeli forces arrested seven Palestinian women over the past two days, bringing the total number of female detainees in Israeli prisons to 47. Most of them are being held in Damon Prison, including two from Gaza and two minors.
