The so-called "District Planning and Building Committee" affiliated with the Israeli occupation municipality in occupied Jerusalem is scheduled to discuss next week the approval of the "Brown Line" plan for the city's light rail.
The new railway is intended to connect the "Atarot Industrial Zone" settlement in northern Jerusalem with the village of Sur Baher in the south of the city, passing through several Palestinian neighborhoods and areas.
The Jerusalem Governorate stated that this plan represents a direct extension of systematic Judaization policies and the imposition of full Israeli control over the occupied city. It aims to entrench the forcible annexation of Jerusalem into the Israeli administrative and planning system.
