The Israeli army’s Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, stated that the objectives of the “Gideon’s Chariots” operation have been achieved, confirming that the army currently controls about 75% of the territory of the Gaza Strip.

Zamir added: “We are at a very critical crossroads, and in the coming days it will become clear whether we are moving toward reaching a ceasefire agreement or not. If an agreement is reached, we will halt operations in accordance with the political leadership’s directives. If no agreement is reached, the instruction to the Southern Command is to intensify and expand combat operations as much as possible.”

In a related context, sources told Al-Qahera News Channel that they are optimistic about the Egyptian and Qatari efforts and the possibility of soon reaching solutions regarding the four disputed points in order to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
