The Director-General of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir Al-Bursh, confirmed that anemia levels in the Gaza Strip have reached extremely high rates.
He explained that only 2 out of every 10 people are currently able to donate blood.
Al-Bursh also stated that 70% of essential medicines are unavailable in hospitals and health centers across Gaza, with only 15 hospitals partially functioning out of the 38 that were operational before the war.
He added that the Israeli occupation has killed 1,590 healthcare workers, including about 200 doctors, during the war, and 1,360 health staff are currently detained by Israeli forces, including Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya and Dr. Marwan Al-Hams.
He also warned that 40,000 infants and 250,000 children are at risk of slow death within the next six months due to malnutrition.
