The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric, condemned the Israeli occupation’s plans to evacuate Gaza City in preparation for military control.

In a statement, Spoljaric said: “It is impossible to carry out a mass evacuation of Gaza City residents in a safe and dignified manner, given the widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure and the severe shortages of food, water, shelter, and healthcare.”

She stressed that all civilians are protected under international humanitarian law, whether they leave the city or remain in it, and must be allowed to return to their homes.
