The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stated that 18,651 students have been martyred and 29,114 injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank on October 7, 2023.

The ministry clarified that in Gaza alone, more than 18,508 students have been martyred and 28,142 injured since the start of the assault, while in the West Bank 143 students were martyred, 972 were injured, and 792 were arrested.

It also noted that 972 teachers and administrators have been martyred and 4,538 injured in Gaza and the West Bank, in addition to more than 199 detained in the West Bank.

Furthermore, 172 public schools have been completely destroyed in Gaza, along with 63 university buildings, while 118 public schools and more than 100 UNRWA schools were bombed and damaged.

The ministry added that the aggression has resulted in the complete erasure of 25 schools — along with their students and teachers — from the educational record.
