The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip condemned the crime committed by the Israeli occupation army during the military offensive it launched under the name “Chariots of Gideon,” which resulted in the killing of 9,073 civilians and the injury of 36,900 others.
In a statement, the office said that among the martyrs were 2,358 children, 1,088 women, and 455 elderly people — meaning that nearly 43% of the victims were from the most vulnerable groups. The rest were mainly young men, killed by the occupation forces at the gates of what are known as the “death traps,” or the so-called U.S.–Israeli centers for distributing aid in Rafah or near Wadi Gaza Bridge.
