PM Benjamin Netanyahu urged Benny Gantz, Minister of Defense, in a press conference not to head to early elections and dissolve the Knesset, and to return to the existing partnership between them allowing the current government to continue its work. Netanyahu focused his statement on his accomplishments against the Coronavirus and his efforts to bring in the vaccine to the Israelis as an Israeli vaccine has been developed and will be available in a few months. He also said that he succeeded in making the Israeli entity a major economic power and still concludes agreements to open more markets for the Israelis, including the Arab world’s markets. He described this move as life-changing to the situation in the region. He also stressed that the entity’s status quo is unsuitable for elections and accused Gantz of blindly following Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett who work for personal interests. Gantz responded to Netanyahu saying that the time of telling lies has passed now, and that Netanyahu led to the failure of the government for personal reasons and his prosecution.
