Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has allocated 2.7 billion shekels to strengthen settlement activity in the occupied West Bank, including 17 settlement outposts that were legalized a few months ago, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
The newspaper explained that the budget also includes strengthening infrastructure for existing outposts with the aim of turning them into full settlements, as well as hundreds of millions for the “Tabu” land registry office, which will take control of 60,000 dunams. The plan also includes grants for farms established by settlers.
According to the newspaper, Smotrich’s plan will reshape the occupied West Bank, making it difficult for any future Israeli government to change the reality on the ground.
