The Palestine Center for Prisoners’ Studies revealed that the number of detainees from Gaza who have died inside Israeli prisons has risen to 50 individuals whose identities have been confirmed since the start of the war on October 7, noting that this number does not reflect the full toll.

The center explained that Israel has arrested more than 14,000 residents from the Gaza Strip and subjected them to intensive, internationally prohibited torture, including severe abuse and medical neglect, which led to the deaths of injured and sick detainees inside the cells. It also indicated that hundreds of other detainees remain unidentified, and it is believed that many of them have died in detention centers without official disclosure — meaning the real numbers are much higher than the 50 confirmed cases.

The center added that hundreds of bodies were handed over to the Palestinian side showing clear signs of severe abuse and field executions, with some arriving still bound and blindfolded.
